Types of Bookings & Fees

I value your time and I’m passionate about delivering caring and professional care.  I recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your appointment so we can settle in and make the most out of your appointment time and focus on meeting your needs.

Business Hours

  • Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm

After hours

  • Monday to Friday 7 am only
  • Saturday 9 am to 12 pm.

10-Minute Initial Chat (complimentary)

Face to Face sessions

Face to Face sessions are held in the comfort of my residential office and are strictly by appointment only.

After Hours and Weekend Appointments

Payments

Payment is required on or before your appointment and can be made by credit card or EFTPOS.

How Long are Sessions?

I value your time and commitment to receiving support.  To ensure availability and high quality of care, I limit client intake numbers giving my existing clients access to flexible appointment times and extended consultations.

Initial sessions are 90 minutes and follow-up ongoing sessions are usually 60-120 minutes. (You decide the time duration at the time of booking).

What Will Happen in the First Session?

In your first intake session, I will be looking forward to meeting you, getting to know who you are, listening to your story and what you want out of your time in our sessions. I will discuss details of your Neutral Zone Client Intake Form, discuss confidentiality, privacy, protocols and boundaries. From there, I will work with you to create clear goals around what we will work on together in your sessions.

How Do I Prepare for My First Counselling Session?

There is no need to prepare anything specific unless you would like to fill out the Intake Form before your appointment If you have a GP referral letter bring that to your session. It can, however, be helpful to make some notes about the things troubling you or any goals for improvement (in your relationships, work or self-esteem etc), these are great points to bring to your first appointment.

Parking

  • There is plenty of on-street parking.

GP Referrals

  • Appointments can be made without a GP referral.

Rebates

  • Private Health fund rebates for counselling can vary widely so please check with your health care provider for any extras policies that may include cover for sessions with counselling.
  • Counselling is not covered by Medicare.

Telehealth

 Zoom or Phone Consultations available by request.

Online sessions are provided via Zoom and require the following from you:

  • A computer (a tablet is fine, but a phone is usually not preferred) with a webcam and microphone to allow us to see each other and talk
  • A free Zoom account (or you can join as a guest)
  • A quiet place to take part in the session (a room with a closed door is perfect, to keep out noise and distractions)
  • A stable Internet connection

Please note that a stable Internet connection is required to ensure our sessions run smoothly without dropping out video or audio. It is recommended that you install Zoom prior to your session and run a test call, to make sure everything is working.

In the event of not being able to take part in a Zoom session we’ll try and complete your session over the phone, although this is not our preferred approach. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for your own Internet or equipment, or the impact this has on your session.

Cancellation, rebooking and refunds

  • At Neutral Zone Counselling we understand that it may be necessary at times to cancel or postpone an appointment, so sufficient notice is greatly appreciated.
  • In the event of a cancellation or change of appointment, please provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice or fees apply.
  • Payment is required on or prior to your appointment and can be made by credit card or EFTPOS
  • Bank Transfer available by prior arrangement.
  • Cancelling or rebooking a session more than 48 hours in advance is free, and you will not be charged. If pre-paid the full fee will be refunded to you.
  • Cancelling or rebooking a session within 24-48 hours will incur a 50% fee. If pre-paid the remaining fee will be refunded to you.
  • Cancelling or rebooking a session within 24 hours will incur a 100% fee.
